Hi Rowdy,
If you were on base + hourly pay, it can be an issue indeed, just like me. They are trying to put numbers down right now, either what my plane flown by a relief pilot did for my 2 week leave or an average based on the previous years.
Are you in the same situation?
They should write my cheque tomorrow. I'll let you know how it went.
Cheers

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

Same problem.. they don't want to pay anything more than my day rate.. and then base everything on my last year earnings after the short term disability (10 weeks) is up, as it's considered seasonal employment. They won't consider mileage and won't base it off the earnings of the previous pilots as it's "policy"....
Lemme know how it works out. Be interesting to see what they do for you

From an employers viewpoint WCB is about as useless as they come - right on par with TC.
What province are you in?
WCB seems to live by their "policies" and ignore whats in the legislation. I am fighting with them right now on a discrepancy between the legislation and what their "policy papers" say. Even when I point them to the legislation chapter and verse, they still say that "they have ruled on this before and the ruling stands."
My advice to you is to look up the legislation and keep hounding them. Better yet threaten to contact your MPP after you hang up with them, I found that works a little with the lower rungs on the totem pole.

That's right. If you were hired seasonal, they'll go to your last year earnings, which is a nonsense but it seems to be their rule. I think you are in for a long fight. I am sorry to hear that Rowdy and hope you heal fast and fly soon.
