Who out there in aviation land has a few thousand hours and some good experience in the logbook and looking for work? Anyone? This is not an ad for work, I was just wondering who is bored at their job and thinking they'd rather be somewhere else?

I can't help but wonder if you've described most pilots.

I learned a number of years ago that the best time to be looking for a job is when you don't need one.

I remember that (years ago) a couple of guys that I was flying with asking me why as I was always up to date on who was hiring and why I would be looking for another job.
In this industry you have to be in the right place at the right time (and know a lot of people), also you'll never know when some nitwit takes over in management and runs the company into the ground. Or management has a brainfart with the same result ; or the politicians make some disastrous decisions in regards to this industry.Etc. etc.
If you are going to wait until the bitter end, you'll end up looking for work along with the rest.

Oh man!

It's funny. For those of us who only have seasonal work, this is the time of the year that we look at our logbook and pray that we finally have enough time to get some sort of full time position. Then we see posts like these and feel that our 1000multi is not really putting us ahead at all :( .
I dread the thought of not flying all winter again. Actually you know what....... it's not really that funny at all
1500TT.
1000Multi.
110METurb.

try pushing 5000 hours with over 2700 turbine most of it PIC, all of it 12,500 lbs plus and having no prospects. I can sympathize with all the new guys breaking in, because everytime you are laid off it is like starting again.
