No first hand experience, but a fellow pilot told me that he and a few others were hired (all quit their old jobs to start there) just to be laid off half way through the training because "plans changed".

Double check before committing.

good luck...

how long ago was that? And why?
Anyone know how many s/o's they have right now, or what the normal number would be?

I've got a few friends in there and they're very happy.

My biggest concern would be upgrading. since it is a non-union shop do they upgrade who they see fit or do they follow an internal seniority list. sitting sideways may seem like a promotion on a jet but unless there is a known path to the right seat I would be finding answers.

Upgrades from S/O to F/O have been very quick in recent times, less than a year in most cases. This time frame is in no way a guarantee, it's based on demand and lately demand has been high. Upgrades are awarded in order of seniority based on date of hire and a lottery system where by each new hire draws a number to determine their relative position within the group having the same date of hire.

It's a great company with excellent prospects and the people here are among the best you could ever hope to work with. Hope this helps, good luck.

Such a lay-off did not happen, and no one has been involuntarily laid-off at any point since the inception of the company.

Things could get interesting at KFC as well, depending on what happens with the Purolator contract.

Does anybody know what the deal is with the 208's and 1900C's?

Do they hire direct entry 1900 Capts or only promote from within?

Is express all one company with the the 727 op?

Is there flow through from 1900 to 727?

What are the pairings like? All out and backs or do you overday for a couple days in a row?

Thanks

The Purolator contract was announced awhile ago, KFC got it till 2014 with a possible 5 year extension.
