Transwest not returning calls

Transwest declined an interview with CBC Saskatchewan, after the second engine failure in as many weeks.
Hopefully, the media of Canada can reveal through the Access of Information Act of Canada, what TC refuses to do.

Both flights returned and landed safely...

Are there maintenance issues to be reckoned with? Maybe. Keep things into perspective. The media loves to sensationalize anthing and everything and spin a story wherever one can be made, linking events that have little or no relevance.

Access to information?

You might as well shut down virtually every air operator in the country, because I am sure if you dig deep enough you will find dirt on everyone.

Remember that SAFETY in our business is RISK MANAGEMENT. If you want absolute safety, tie every plane to the ground and walk, cause other modes of transportation are likely to be just as dangerous.

Umm, you can't use access to information to get confidential information about any entity other than the government

Oh no, not a false indication of an engine fire. Would you have preferred the pilots had continued onwards to destination and assumed it was a false, since it happened the week previous?

From the outside looking in (and going on the CBC story), appears to be a good job by the crew.

engine failures are a fact of life, they have always happened and will do so. Only the the good job and training of pilots will it be just rather an inconvience. For 2 engine failures in a short span.. well guess many a legacy airline shoulda been shut down on that philosphy

Don't worry. Transwest will end up merging with Pronto, and the SK transportation line will continue.

Just as Athabaska and Air Sask.

As in the begining, so will be the end.

If I am reading the correct story, and the story is correct, the second event would not be classified as an engine "failure" but rather a precautionary (intentional) shutdown. Bit of a difference there.

Who cares? Just because a commercial aircraft has an emergency (or not) and nothing more happens (ie: engine failure, forced landing, no damage, no injuries) doesnt mean that company HAS to answer to your call. They dont have an obligation to talk to you or answer your demands rofl!

Heck if it was me getting harrased I'd tell you to take a hike. I probably wouldnt be too friendly either.

I highly doubt TransWest is gonna merge with anyone.

Btw, their pilots in YVC are a pretty good bunch, specially the DHC6 guys
