That's not a very big spill really, I've seen worse, it's on the concrete ramp not a whole lot to worry about.

What ramp company is that? Same color equipment as the guys down here.

It's actually an ashphalt apron, and the guys with the yellow vests are WestJet. I assume those colors are the same everywhere.

The fellow in red fueling is Flightline Services and the vehicles and the rest of the personnel are Region of Waterloo employees. This airport is owned and operated by the Region of Waterloo

Pave ramp? Well the main difference will be that the stain will be there for a few months, long as it didn't hit any drains.

Fueller over-fill or did something fail?

When I fuelled RJ's way back we were told to always fuel on "Manual" because the auto-shut off wasn't reliable. In fact the only airplane we were allowed to auto-fuel was the 319/320

Well, with WestJet saying they are very happy with the passenger loads, there's the inevitable rumour that Jazz is interested.

Maybe Westjet was just marking territory :)

I'm just repeating what I heard, I know nothing about these aircraft, but apparently there are separate tanks within the wing.

As one tank fills, a sensor or sorts automatically directs fuel into the next tank. Apparently this sensor failed, the pressure built up, and fuel came streaming out the end of the wing.

I'll be honest I never had the oppertunity to fill a 737NG. But as far as I know they have two wing tanks and a centre fuel tank. Someone on this fourm can obviously confirm that.

Wing tanks fill, it auto fills the centre tank as overflow.

That's the exact reason it's not recommended to fuel the CRJ on auto.
