Sked eh, I can see Montego bay, but aren't they creating competition for their own Transat charter flights? Or is there that much un-tapped traffic?

The latest contract between WS and Transat is different from those in the past. Previously, WS wasn't allowed to fly to any destination that is already served by Transat. That's why you saw WS launch Nassau last year. WS is now permitted to fly to any destination it wants.

Contractually, Transat has the ability to buy "X" amount of seats on WS flights at a set price for WS flights to the Carribean. So lets say that Air Transat offers a weekly flight (Sun) from YYZ-PUJ, for example. WS is now offering (I think) Mon/Thurs(??) service from YYZ-PUJ. Transat can purchase "X" amount of seats on those WS flights and sell them as Transat vacations packages. WS has the ability to do the same on Transat flights (on Air Transat metal).

With both carriers agreeing to a contract which allows WS to fly wherever it wants, I can only assume that its mutually beneficial to both. Maybe there are markets where Transat feels it needs to reduce frequency to? Maybe those markets are where WS feels it has an opportunity to make money? Guess we'll see..

...sounds like a codeshare agreement without the actual codeshare.

Not really. I believe this sort of agreement is fairly common. A few years ago when WS was doing charters for Signature to LAS, Transat was also purchasing seats from Signature on that flight to sell as Transat Vacations.
