Dispatcher Pay

Post by permateacher »

What's a fair salary for a dispatcher for Calgary? No TC training requirement, just for basic operations assistance.

Thanks,

do you mean dispatching for a charter type company? without any TC tests done i think the best your going to find is a flight follower position. Not quite the same thing but its a step towards dispatching if you finish the exams

Dispatch

Flight following would be the better word I guess in that case, but it is the salary information that I'm looking for so we can attract high quality people to our operation when we post the job.

Thanks for your reply though,

If you're looking to hire an experienced person you should be planning on the mid 30's. The wife was offered about 32K 2 years ago, with a 2K raise after 6 months. A good 704 dispatcher that knows the job and how to think outside the box is worth the extra money over 250 hr pilot waiting their turn for a right seat. On the hand if you're just looking for someone to answer the phone and radio calls hire the pilot. Tim's, McD, and 7-11 are all starting in the $9-$11/hr range, $19K to $23K/year. Figure the math if you need to hire off the street to have the realiablity and custmer service you want
