Recent Call Backs

Post by El Comat »

Anyone who interviewed recently get a call back from mainline? If so, when did you interview? I've got a recent "interviewee" sitting beside me who doesn't log on here who wants to know.

Thanks!

June 11- no word yet

Are there any patterns.

I've heard a couple of people say that they heard positive feedback within 1-2 weeks of the interview. Also heard people get PFO'd within 2 weeks and after 8 weeks!

Has anyone received the good news following a 4-8 week wait?

Bic- I am sorry to hear that. But more specifically, perhaps the WAIT is over, but it is not over. AC is just one of many out there. I have heard of several people that have re-applied and after 3 tries got on. Don't give up if it means that much to you.

Personally, I have no idea how it went and all I can do is wait. I have lately been hearing of several people that interviewed and within 2 weeks were going for medicals? So who knows how it all works. If that's the case then perhaps my PFO will be in the mail shortly. On the other hand I hear the longer it takes the better?

Don't give up.

I have listened to a description of the process by someone who devised it.
It is a competition of results.

That is to say, while there may be a few "failures" in the process, for the most part, your results have been successful but are in competition for a time with everyone else who has gone through this around the same period as you.

Therefore, based on the individual results of this competition, some people are getting called very quickly and some much later.

The ones that wait a long time and then get the dreaded "PFO" did not fail so much as their lesser results eventually led them to fall out the back end of a time frame of some kind. Thus, the quick PFO is probably the result of a "failure".

I hope I have properly captured what I was told.

Best of luck!

It may or may not mean anything that your references were called. I heard of one guy that got the PFO even though his references were called. He must've gotten a bad reference. I got the nod and they didn't call any one of my references...I think I may know why but anyway, chances are good though that yours were called.

Good luck.

Well the letter came today. Only a few days before my B-day. Thanks AC :)

I was pretty disappointed at first but all I can say is I know I am in great company with many talented individuals who had way more experience than me that also got the letter. Only a month ago I was happy just to get the interview.

To those that do make it through I can only say I am extremely jealous and hope you realize just how lucky you really are.

See you all at WJ :)

Highlander, sorry to hear that. Now you are aware that there are quite a few people working at AC that got the letter and reapplied successfully 6 months later. I know it seems like a long time, but it'll go by quick and you can reapply if that's what you really want. I'm sure the disappointment is strong, but just like the oracle in The Matrix said, you will start feeling better as soon as you walk out that door. Good luck second time around to all you guys/gals!

Regardless of this, Happy Birthday!!! Live it up cause life is short!

Edited for spelling.

What a company!!

Why is it that people are getting PFO'd 6 months ago, and now getting the offer? How much has changed in that time?

It sounds like the hiring department needs a good overhaul. What a waste of money.

Employees bitch about Milty's pay (which they should) but the hiring dept probably wastes as much money as Bobby's bonuses were.

Maybe AC could sell of the hiring dept and show a profit in the next quarter. Or has everything been sold off already???

Maybe the applicants practiced playing Pong for 6 months and aced the Clog test the 2nd time around. Definately is a very strange hiring process they have. :bio:

On a semi-related note, I received an email today stating that "Air Canada is calling you for an Interview!". After my heart started beating again, I noticed no letterhead/logos etc. Is it normal practice for them to contact you in this manner, or is this some kinda sick joke? :)

Cheers,
PP

Yep - that's how the email comes. Some spam blockers have been known to delete it even because of the various font sizes and use of bold and underlined text. The subject line was word for word a match with the one they sent me, so it sounds legit! Good luck with it - try not to let it stress you out too much. Enjoy the process, regardless of the outcome it's a tremendous accomplishment for you, and a great experience!

Cheers..
