You'd be amazed, in my ground school I was the lowest time at 2800, after that was 3300 all the way up to 7000.

Think of all the turboprops airborne in Canada as we speak. All those guys are logging time, everday there are a few more 3000 hr guys in the pool.

Not all the "groups" of guys are the same size. The statistics on the number of CPLs 3-6 yrs ago and rescent ATPLs issued have a drastic affect on the current pool of applicants meeting the 3000-4000 hrs mark.

During a time when everyone and their mother told any kid on the street, "DO NOT become a pilot", "There are NO jobs".

Currently Jazz' mins are 1500tt with 1000 PIC. I'm sure they have hired people with slightly less than 1000 PIC, but their previous experience probably made up for the lack of PIC. Also, I doubt they'd hire anyone without the ATPL signed off, then again I could be wrong.

C-HRIS, they have indeed hired people with a "little less" than the 1000 hrs pic.

100 hrs PIC to be precise, and with only an IATRA, Their previous experience definitely made up for their lack of the 1000 hrs pic no doubt!

Preference given to those candidates with extensive circuit training and FRASCA time. Wet ink on their license an asset. Hood time or simulated IFR experience in VFR weather a must!!

I guess people will be a little less likely to leave in 6 months to a year when they are unmarketable to the rest of the industry.
