Please Help Me Decide!

Post by aaahaa »

Hello All,

I have been watching this forum for few months and all your inputs have helped me get into flying. I so far have about 12 hours and getting ready for my solo. And now starts the dillemna!

I have decided to complete my PPL on my own and then OSAP for CPL and instructer's rating. I have a college degree already so I would like to finish the training soon as a full time.

Problem is I am in Toronto and not that many schools are certified through OSAP. I am correct on this right? Brampton Flying Club seems to be really good but is not approved with OSAP. However, I "heard" a few students were able to get a loan for this school. Any insights on this help would help tremendously.

The 2nd option I was thinking about is - I found a flight school in PEI - Tradewinds Flight Centre - They have good rates and they seemed very nice over the phone. This school is approved through OSAP but I haven't found any reviews in this forum. Any suggestions?

So, I either find a way to get the loan for Brampton.. Or move to PEI for the training since the loan will be approved and cheaper. Or any other suggestions are appreciated.

Please help me with your suggestions. Now I will be anxiously watching my own topic.

I once looked into the matter as well. I've heard of people getting funds from OSAP to fly for a few privately owned flight schools, but have no idea how they went about doing so.
