meet contrail on the king air - not sure exactly what FO mins are but I'm training a guy with 500 hours right now, that seems to fit the bill..I think 300 or so has to be multi.

its tough though we got guys on the ramp with about that time waiting for a checkout.

Cheers

500TT 250Multi for F/O is what they used to have published... If you were going on the 1900 you would need IATRA too.

We have plenty of people internally who would be very happy to jump to the 1900 from the king air fleet...unless you have a type rating you won't be hired directly into the 1900

Contrails are a complete waste of time and solely based upon a supply and demand market. In time, there will be no contrails as no pilot will meet these qualifications for captain. The fact they have been reduced further proves they are a complete farce in this industry.

North Caribou sounds like a great company, no insult to their operation whatsoever, but Alberta companies need to do some thing about this cancer in aviation.

Again, no insult to North Caribou, this is in regards to the contrail requirements.

Contrails???
I'm not familiar with this term...

Contrails: Consultant contracted by many oil/resource companies to set minimum standards for pilot experience on various aircraft classes to ensure "safer" operations.

Realistically, however, the numbers are often inflated. With current industry movement many companies are finding it difficult to retain crews (esp. captains) who meet Contrails and the requirements for MPIC/PIC on type make it difficult to upgrade f/o's.

Just for the record c_dub there is no such company named "North Caribou". We are not named after the animal. We are named after the North Cariboo region in BC.

Fresh Prince, could you clarify how that all works, please? Do you have to run all of your times in different categories (PIC, TT, MULTIPIC...etc) through the 'matrix' and then as long as you are better than the far-right column, then you'll be good to go?

You can either meet or exced the left hand column. If you don't, you may credit things like initial and recurrent sim and time on type.

So if I was on the 1900 I would need 3000TT to meet the TT reqs of that category. But, if I were to have initial and recurrent sim I could lower that to 2500TT. Also if I had 1000 hours on type I can reduce the TT another 1 hour for every 2 hours on type. So my TT required to be Contrail would be 2000TT.

You have to meet or exceed every time requirment for that category. MPIC, PIC, TT etc.

I don'y understand???
They wan't 50 hours on type for all A/C... F/Os positions???

They don't give PPC??

How in gods name do you get time on type on turbo-prop with 400 Hrs??

ICEMAN,

C Dub.
If you think Contrail is going away, you're delusional. Oil companies like auditors they know to give their risk management people data to work with. Contrail's guys used to be Shell and TC respectively. Risk management isn't something oil companies take lightly.

Do not worry you. The 50 hours are to be on the list of Contrail, which usually request more experiment to transport their customers. Majority of the copilots who vien to start in Calgary are not qualifiies on the list. It ya of another work apart of Contrail.

You get a job with a company like north cariboo air, who then flies the crap out of you on 'non contrail trips' until you get 50 hours....seriously we can have that polished off in less than two weeks.

We've trained people who were 200 or so hours away from contrail when they got their ppc and flew them on 'non contrail' trips until they met contrail mins, even the people who are a few hundred hours (due to the Multi requirments) were contrail within a few months. They tend to keep this to a minimum so that there are only 1 or 2 guys fighting for our non contrail trips.

Cheers
