Superior Airways CP Job Opening
If someone is looking for a change of pace and an opportunity to become part of a new 703 Operator, please read the job posting on this website. I would certainly like to eventually expand into the franchise idea that I posted on an earlier topic, and this a chance to make it happen from the beginning. This opening should appeal to someone with a sense of vision that things can be done differently than what you see at your current employer. I will be the Ops Manager and have worked throughout the north from Iqaluit to Inuvik over the past number of years. I am intending to copy what worked and throw out all the garbage that wasted money. Each aircraft will be GPS certified with Garmin 430's and all your SIMCOM training and PPC is paid with no bonds. The intent is to make it a fun place to work where you can reach your potential and be proud of where you work. I am a pilot so I don't expect you to fly if you're tired or overduty or anything else that would contravene the CARS. You would start training in April and if everything stays on track, operations would begin in May. Anyways, if you ahve any more questions, feel free to PM me......later
go for it
like to the above post please keep us posted with all yoru trials and tribulations. best of luck.
Cheers,
Shaun
Cheers,
Shaun

Superior was chosen because the company will be based north of Lake Superior and it looks decent when printed out with the logo. The original company amalgamated with Austin Airways in 1982, which became Air Ontario and then of course Jazz. There was another Superior flying DC3s out of the Yukon in the 1940's, or at least that's what Google says.
Thanks to everyone who PM'd me and for the words of encouragement as its taken 16 hours a day for 4 months to get this far. I really want to change the way things are done with 703 Operators as I've worked for enough of them to know that there is an incredible potential for success if management would just work with the staff as opposed to ruling over them. Its funny that in other industries cooperation seems to be a neccessity for success but you mention empowerement or profit sharing to a 703 Operator and they don't even understand the concept. Okay, that's enough of a rant.

As I said earlier, I hope it works out. You are right, many operators here in Canada simply lack the maturity and vision to provide a good, rewarding environment-- perhaps having always assumed that so long as the supply/demand rule is on their side, then they can get away with it. Or perhaps it is that's all they've know. I've even heard people say "that's the way the real world works."
I sometimes feel envious because I hear much better stories from friends in the US about smaller operators in the having the enviroment that Waldo wants to create. Perhaps, it's time has come even in Canada.
Again, best of luck!
