I am looking to get a job in the US. I have a canadian commercial ticket and a US commercial ticket as well. I am trying to get on with the majors down there. Maybe get one of those 747 left seater openings that are so prevalent down there.

Anyone know anything about getting authorization to work in the US? Whether you need a green card or a visa? Are there companies in the US that people have heard of that sponsor canadians to be employees?

Let me know. thx.

Any Green Card or work Authorization there come with a WIFE.

So get looking on Yahoo Personals before you look for a job.

That and a 98mph fastball will get you a green card.

From my own experience. I have had numerous offers of employment but no employer is willing to get you a green card. INS does not recognize pilots as a profession that qualifies for the TN-1 visa. Marrying a U.S. citizen is still the only way to get into the States (even that is getting harder to do). You could try winning the visa lottery. I gave up a long ago, married a great Canadian girl. I'm flying heavy metal here. Good luck, it will be a tough go.

You could always try for refugee status or get a treaty card.
Oh wait, you're probably a whitey, disregard...
