Believe it or not, there was no contact with good ol' planet earth.
The gentleman who flew this is a good friend of mine. He is actually an Aerobatic Competency Evaluator and did my evaluation for my Airshow Qualification just 2 weeks ago.
One cannot come closer then this. His exact words to me were "I had a juvenile moment". What we cannot see on the video is an airplane parked on the ground at the extreme right of the runway. He saw it, recognized his friend waiting for take off - he was next to perform - and without thinking extended the down line a mere 0.5 second to "buzz" his awaiting friend... Needless to say, he never did that again...
He flew the very same routine, in the very same airplane the following day. All except the Juvenile moment...

Now that we have an explanation, it's a CLASSIC example of the hazardous attitude of Impulsivity. If he was a foot lower, the results would have been tragic.
The 5 hazardous attitudes of Impulsivity, Invulnerability, Resignation, Machismo and Anti-authority are present in every pilot. Some would argue some of these attitudes are necessary for safe flight at various times.
AND EVERY PILOT at one time or another has been victim to a hazardous attitude at one time or another. So try to minimize the demonstration of these attitudes.
If you have never heard of the 5 Hazardous Attitudes, well, now you have. Google it and read up. It could save your life.
HAVE FUN, but fly safely, folks!
