Good Day,

I was wondering if there are any former Canadian Forces ATC Officers, who now work for Nav Canada, on this forum? If so can you get back to me please. I have a pension question to ask. Thanks folks.

Cheers

I spent 15 years in the CF and retired with an early pension under FRP. I can try and fill you in, what would you like to know?

Is there any truth to the rumor that you can roll your CF pension into the Nav Canada pension? If so how does that work? I know Air Canada used to do it, up to a few months ago, for CF pilots. Thanks for your time.

Cheers

When I did mine, it was rolled over from govt department to govt department, ie DND to Transport.
I'm not sure what they do now.
I'll post if I find anything out.

Or email the experienced controller folks from this link and see what they have to say

In my case I was already receiving a pension from DND when I came to NavCanada. There was no option to buy back time or pay pack the pension in this case. I know of some others that have tried, after receiving a lump sum, to buy back the time, but have been, as far as I know, unsuccessful. I believe the problem in their case was the fact that they already had the money in hand. If you are still in the CF and trying to switch over, find out ahead of time and get it in writing!
