Anyone know anything about LCE Aviaton out of Buttonville? There's nothing about them on Pilot Career Centre. Curious about pay and schedule and hours if anyone knows.

Guess I should fill everyone in, because I have since found the answer to my own questions. LCE formerly RTR is an executive charter company out of Buttonville with 2 PC-12's. The fly pretty much anywhere in North America. Everyone carries a cell phone and are on-call pretty much all the time.

F/O's - $500 base/mon. + $100 per flight leg
Capt's - $500 base/ mon. + $250 per flight leg

Upgraded captains are required to sign a 4 year training bond

Hours depend on bookings and from what I gathered there is a lot of overnights and about 40-60 hours per month.

Well people, LCE pays all training costs....like $14K for the SIMCOM course, $3K for the aircraft training and about $1K for expenses and then there is the flight to Florida. All totalled, its more than you would think. In this day and age, pilots tend to jump ship pretty easy if they are not held accountable for something. I believe this is fair. As for 4 year contract, its pro-rated so if someone wants to skip they can pay out the balance. The company is doing ok and very busy. The crews are worked hard but also enjoy the benefit of not having to hump ass in the north. Good luck!!

5 years is over the top. To try and justify that is silly. Yes I realize that the job is in the center of the universe. Yes I realize that there is costs involved with training even on something as small as a PC-12. No I don't think that even a 2 year contract makes sense on a PC-12.

That may be that but the job was filled by a pilot willing to come south and take the conditions! Besides, whats the loan payments on say $20K for 4 years...wonder how much the guys at Jetsgo pay monthly???

Endless, they could always ask for only qualified pilots with the training complete or give someone the chance to pay for it themselves with no bond or contract. Perhaps training costs is what makes the airline industry so up and down. I remember at Jazz (Air Ontario) they would train some guy....with no bond then days after training be gone to AC. Does that seem fair to you? Smaller companies can't afford a hit like that. Ya want the job you take conditions, yes even on something as small as a PC-12. By the way the PC-12 is no that small and it costs more to buy than small jets. And for the record its a 4 year not 5 year contract/bond. Hold on to your seniority number!!!

Bandit: I see where you're coming from. The PC-12 is much bigger than a cessna 172. However if you look at bonds for much larger aircraft they are all of smaller time frames. Can you name a company in canada that has a bond longer than 2 years? Every bond I can think of that isn't for an initial jet type rating is between 1 and 2 years. Perhaps tindi has one that's slightly longer for 2 years on their dash-8? Anyway... back to the point.. if you're looking at industry standard a bond for a pc-12 is 1yr at approx 10k. I can't see the justification for a bond 4 times that duration.
