Well as far as flight deck is concerned Pilots have been asked if they wish to be based there on a temp basis for the winter operation. Some have taken it and the rest will be rotation in and out of YYC and YVR over the winter.
They have hired FA's for YYC and YVR and the rest will be rotated out of YYZ like the flight deck.

What you speak of has been going on for at least 15 years. Canidian operators sending summer crews and A/C to the UK, first C3 then Skyservice, and now also Sunwing. I know Skyservice sent pilots this summer to work with Mytravel and Sunwing had a plane in GLA and Cardiff I think. Those in the UK have complained about the loss of jobs there, especially post 911 when a lot were hurting. To look at it realisticly it keeps the jobs of pilots on both sides of the pond stable and allows job creation which might not have happened otherwise. i.e. would Sunwing need as many people if they didnt sub to XL, so you have to look at the bigger pic. If you get on with one of them you may actually enjoy an all expense paid trip to Europe.

Hey mighty mouse,
Now that you are a crew chief in KFC, do you still think that the YVR guys were under worked during 2007? I see you have retracted your statement to say that the YVR boys only had 10 turns, was that a week or day?
Remember they were dealing with Flyglobespan, NOT Harmony!!!
And buy the way, for those of you who think KFC will be hiring in YVR dont do it. more lay offs to come.

KFC Maintenance has had how many opportunities to unionize over the last ten years? Was it three union drives? Four? Bet you wish you had now!
Anyways, I dont get what you're getting at.
PS, In my opinion, It's not just KFC affected by layoffs, maint all over Canada will feel the squeeze as the large maintenance facilities down south (way south) expand.
