HAWAII

Post by bohica »

Question for the guys and gals doing the hawaiian flights.

Are the a/c ever load restricted and have to remove pax to get to the mainland from the islands or is gas and load no problem.

Thanks in advance as was thinking of going with them for holidays.

here it comes again

Your bags may not travel with you.

I've flow with them on a few occations and bags were left behind to travel with Harmony Airways due to load issues.

Who'll be carrying them this year with Harmony out of the picture?

That's not true at all. During the first month of service right after launching the routes that was the case a few times but it's not anymore.

The flight is capped leaving 10 open seats. On the rare occasion a tech stop is needed (PDX, SFO) that cap may be removed. FWIW, there were four days of tech stops last year and that was during late Dec and January. Those 10 available seats aren't sold so you'll never run into the problem of being bumped.

Also, going from the Islands to the mainland... is about 5 hours (4.5 hours last week) ... there is never a problem carrying anything home.

There was an issue going outbound in the first year but they had too much gas in the ETOPS build up and its fixed now. They still cap 10 seats as a back up.

CanadaEH are you sure? I've heard the same thing about bags and payload issues not just after launch.
