Halifax

Post by quicksilver »

I'm trying to move to the east coast. Is it possible, or likely, to get a Halifax base? Or would you have to take any base for a couple years then get a Halifax base. I really have no clue about jazz but I have about 1000hrs 705ops and 2000TT.

Getting a basing in Halifax would be almost impossible. You can live anywhere in Canada and commute to your base.

Hope this helps.

Not quite impossible.
There having been at least 2 openings in YHZ in the last 4 months for new hires.

Halifax is the smallest base at Jazz. And one of the most senior. There are openings on occasion so it is possible to get it. Just plan to commute for a while & when you do get back to YHZ, plan on reserve for a while too.

Good luck

Halifax can be a tough commute, not impossible, but tough. There are lots of former Halifax based Jazz pilots now in Montreal and Toronto, plus lots of AC pilots and F/As.
