Hi peoeple,
I'm contemplating a career change, for someone at my age, career in avaiton is possible?...I'll be 32 years old when I'll have CPL...
I already have bachelor degree in finance...Should I attend a College program or just fast track program is enough for a career.
any comments?...

Hi again,
How did you manage to fly with a 704 so quickly and build time to qualify for Jazz?..

If I were in that situation i'd just take my training through a local flight school, you already have a degree which would be an asset if you were to apply for Jazz/WJ etc. Not to mention you'd save some money from not attending 1+ year of college on top of all your flight training.

Re: 30,5(!) years old...
I got my commercial at 32 one and a half yrs ago. Been in the same job since flying pistons and turbines, having a ball. Do the flight training in your own time at local flying school.

I was 35 when I got my licence. I was an industrial electrician before this and now I've been flying full time for the last 9 years. Best move I ever made.

Depends or your priorities. I think shopping around will answer your question tho...
If you wanna get done ASAP, which it sounds like you do, go to your local FTU and lay down the bucks. If you have the time/money you could to the whole thing in a year. Dollars are your big concern? Shop carefully; contrary to the constant opinions on here, some of the college programs are same price or a bit cheaper, particularly those that are actually owned by the institution in question as opposed to being a partnership between a college and a pre-existing FTU.
Don't get suckered into thinking you can't change horses either. Use your PPL to shop around. If you don't like the guys who took 7K off you for that, why give 'em another 30?
Bottom line, no one really gives a shit where you got your CPL/MIFR, especially not right now. You might, because there IS a huge variation in quality out there, but not the guy across the desk. Go. Go now. Get the paper if its what you really want, and then search up xsbank's job advice on the forums here. The good times won't last forever, but my 704 employer just put 10 or so 250 hr pilots online. So get ready to live the dream of a 50% pay cut, working most holidays and probably becoming familiar with a lot of places with Fort, Lake or Juaq in their names....
Wouldn't trade it for anything...

edit: Don't worry about your age, no one else will.
