QANTAS was never going to cancel their order, dont where people got that idea from. 
FLIGHT TIME FOR FIRST QANTAS A380
Qantas' first A380, MSN14, successfully completed its first engine run in Toulouse on Wednesday. The aircraft then taxied back to the hangar under its own power and is now being readied for its maiden flight between 21-24 January. It will then fly to Hamburg for the commencement of cabin installation.
The first of 20 ordered is scheduled to arrive August 2008. Registraion VH-OQA.
All to be powered by the TRENT970 engine.
Simulator is up and running in Syd, with the intial pilots currently in France doinng their training, with 4 already endorsed.
Intial flights from Melbourne (YMML) to LAX.
