Re: MORNINGSTAR
Why don't you apply, get an interview, and find out from them?
Re: MORNINGSTAR
i have but i would like to know before, in case it is not going to work for me. one thing i have learned in this industry is you do not want to burn bridges.
Re: MORNINGSTAR
Great company, good pay and benefits and a great schedule .
wage goes up with evey year , max out after 9 years i believe . apply and see if you get a call , then ask the wage , but i can tell you it is above industry standart.

Re: MORNINGSTAR
Hey "Tainter",
Could you give us an example of the "great" schedule?? I'm curious as to what kind of schedule a guy could look forward to in this type of operation. Most of my jobs have had 22-26 days a month... I'm looking to make that a little better in the future!
cheers

Re: MORNINGSTAR
you can plan on sitting sideways for a while. At least 2 years. If you're cool with that and enjoy night flying, it could be good for you
Re: MORNINGSTAR
where is the 27 based and where does it fly? does it ever leave canada?

Re: MORNINGSTAR
how realistic is to wait for 4yrs for an upgrade to F/O spot from the S/O...thats what I hear from inside the company as the way things are currently???
anyone been there in the seat and has moved out of there earlier?
thanks

Re: MORNINGSTAR
Fastest upgrade from Caravan to F/o ever was 6 month . Longest about 5.5 years . Right now the average time from S/O to F/o is about 2.5 years . But that can all change as the industry keeps growing . or could slow down tomorrow .... it all depends .....
Re: MORNINGSTAR
2.5 yrs right now is not too bad, then again, for someone with ATPL time, the way industry is going thats hard to swallow, considering you don't accumulate ANY hours.
Agian, insider info I heard was close to 4 yrs S/O to F/O, but times are changing....
what would you guys do in my case?? Take that, or build little more time and move in direct Caravan capt or find something else?

Re: MORNINGSTAR
all depends on your long term goal i guess . Morningstar is a great company and some people have been for for over 15 years . some guys come get 500 hours and move on . all depends on your long term goal i guess . The caravan i a great plane and you get some cool single pilot IFR experience . Level D simulator training in memphis etc etc etc . SO is great for moving in the right seat , because you already know all the sop's and have sen all the other new guys make all the mistakes so maybe you won't make them LOL . It all depends , but both ways are fun and sure to get you where you want to go . again its all personal choices really ......

Re: MORNINGSTAR
What are they asking for interms of Bond Amount? On the Van/727?
Re: MORNINGSTAR
1 year bond , you stay one year and thats it .... you don't have to upfront any money ...Any company that wants you to pay upfront is not worth going to in my opinion...
