CYKG
Anyone know what fuel availability is like in CYKG? Is it just Jet or do they have avgas as well?

Re: CYKG
ya but at midnight at home I don't have a cfs by my side. Also never trust what the CFS says while heading off to Norther Quebec. Anyway I found out this morning they have 19 barrels all ripe for the picking. And the people at the number they list don't know much about the fuel and have to forward you to an outfit in Montreal. Kinda weird if you ask me.

Re: CYKG
correct if i am wrong guys, you know who you are, but i thought we used to fuel elsewhere before going in there...
fyi the reason the management is in Montreal, is because from Montreal they manage all 13 or so villages in Northern Quebec, they can also call the "reserve" fueller if another doesn't show, and communicating directly with some of the guys up north, the message doesn't always get across, often you are calling someone's house and a sibling or cousin answers...
been up there quite a bit, and generally service is prompt, but you can wait a bit after hours, 15-30 mins, just make sure it's you first call when you land

Just kinda curious as to why someone is heading to Kangiqsujuaq this time of year and if not being too inquisitive to ask, what you're flying and where you coming from? In the summer it is tough to get there on floats without hauling some with you or stopping at the dock in LG4 or Lac Pau before heading on to Kuujjuaq. Wheels is a little easier but still a long stretch having no gas stations.

Not going till spring and the reason for going is because someone is paying me to get them there.sheephunter wrote:Just kinda curious as to why someone is heading to Kangiqsujuaq this time of year and if not being too inquisitive to ask, what you're flying and where you coming from? OK, I'll be heading that direction in mid March for a week or so and then again in early August until the end of Sept. But only as far as Kuujjuaq. Or actually 85 mile west of there. Been in the area for over 20 years. If you have any questions or need help, don't hesitate to ask.
