Go tanis, stay away from artic covers.I had nothing but trouble with them.Poor fit,and not made the way I asked.
Re: Engine Tents/Heaters
we've had some of our wing covers and engine tents made by a local upholsterer (sp?)... anyone that has a heavy duty sewing machine and knows their way around it can whip up some pretty decent stuff, provided they have the patterns.
QUACK!
Re: Engine Tents/Heaters
Indoors (ie no wind) I just use a sleeping bag. Biggest
problem is the zippers on the paint - I find a folded-over
razor blade takes the zippers off nicely. The price is
right.
That, and a Canadian tire 1500W 120VAC heater
stuffed in the bottom cowl air outlet - fashion a
hook out of doubled-up .032 lock wire - works for me.

Re: Engine Tents/Heaters
Tanis systms are really good at keeping engines warm. Arctic covers in YAV do a pretty good job, but I have used some that they have made that are hit or miss. I have used the old car interrior heater in the cowling. Works on some planes, though I think its not the best solution, but it works.
