We'll I've been a reader of AvCanada for a couple months now and finally decided to join. I will be doing a trip out west to Saskatoon in a couple weeks from Southern Ontario. I am thinking of flying out to YWG and renting a car for a couple days to tour around. This is where I am: 250 hours with Multi IFR, spent the last 7 months working the ramp for NAC Air, was next to go flightline when they shut it down. Basically I am back at the start, the way I see it, one little road block, no big deal, these things again.
Been applying to several places by e-mail but haven't heard a thing. Applied to Wasaya for a ramp position but they told me they won't be hiring till the spring when things start to pick up. I am just wondering some of the different companies in YWG and YXE that I should drop in at. So far I have Skynorth, Fast Air, and Keewatin in YWG and Westwind Aviation in YXE and will be stopping by in Buffalo Narrows to say hi to Courtesy Air. Now I know Perimeter hires off the ramp, but I know a few people who have tried that route and came back a year and half later empty handed. My question is, what other operators should I check out that I haven't mentioned?
Basically I am looking for anything, I am more than willing to work the ramp again, it was a great experience at NAC and I didn't find living in a small isolated town to be a big deal. I appreciate any advice I can get to get the ball rollin' again.

If you are going to Saskatoon, try Transwest. They sometimes hire lower time guys for the ramp or right seat on a Ho.
