Wage expectancy and education questions.

Post by aew90 »

I am currently enrolled in an avionics program in little old NB, but i am now considering taking the M course in NS. I was wondering what kind of wages i could expect to get with an E and M apprentice. I am wondering about this because the course is rather expensive in comparison to the current course i am in, and i would like the know what salary difference i could expect to see, if any at all. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most Avionics people I know (Not all Avionics people!) Work regular white man hours (Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30)
Where most M licensed people work every type of hour under the Sun! (that has got to be worth the extra money!
On a serious note The Avionics techs I know make about the same as I do. (These are the ones that work for the same organizations I do not the Bench worker types. I have no Idea what the Bench tech makes but I would assume it would be
close to the same.
Sorry, couldn't be more help.

Pay rates are typically the same from what I have seen between M and E Licenced AME's. However some companies offer a small bonus if you have an additional rating. For example an M1 with a specialty like E or S.
Cheers!

I was not impressed by the quality of the NS M course after working with one of the grads. I am upset that TC approves these training org's that are based out of someone's backyard.

Garbage, I tell you.

Multiple lic. will generally get you a few more bucks, but it is endorsements and time in the industry that makes a big difference. We have all started at the bottom and worked or way up (I think   LOL). As for the NS M program check the hands on ratio and the equipment used for training-it can make or break a program and the quality of the grad. Once the word spreads that your grads suck it it hard to place them. Good luck
