Re: GSP! GSP! GSP!
that was an awesome fight!
I love how GSP executed. Even when he could have grabbed an arm or taken serras back he didn't because that would have played directly into the strength of serra. Serras eyes were looking right effed up. The end of the fight was as brutal an overall ass kicking as I have seen in awhile. Repeated knees to the ribs... ever had a bruised rib? I can't even begin to understand the pressure GSP was under and his mental state was always his perceived weak point.. it's nice to see him stuff that notion. I can't imagine a more stressful situation, fight for the title, in your home town, against the guy who already kicked your ass, and you're the fave...
The only part of GSP's aresenal I have never seen is him on his back. I guess you could say huges GSP 1 but that's almost irrelevant.. I'm scared to see GSP on his back because that would put him out of his element in the octagon. His wrestling is good, but he's dismantled wrestlers by putting them on their back in a poistion they are not comfortable in.

Re: GSP! GSP! GSP!
Dear Lord what a beating. GSP's got legs like tree trunks and put em' to work. He had 8inches of reach (around?) on the guy, that's tough to beat.
Re: GSP! GSP! GSP!
Total domination!! That's the way the first fight should have gone had GSP been 100%!!

You mean round 3?
Those knees at the end were brutal. I'm surprised it didn't get stopped sooner.

no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.

GSP is the best all around athlete I can think of. I can't believe people still watch baseball or boxing when there is something like the UFC.

Re: GSP! GSP! GSP!
GSP has to be one of the most exciting fighters in the league. With the exception of his loss to Hughes and Serra he usually dominates those fights and ends them in some spectacular fasion.
Overall the Montreal fight was a good one. I was very impress by the brit Bisping, he looks like he'll be someone to keep an eye on. The Canadian from Toronto/Woodbridge (Bochek?) who started off the PPV, although lost, had me in awe of how he never gave up and just kept fighting back to the very end. Rich Franklin's fight was a good one as well, I also enjoyed watching Goulet come back and win his fight. ONLY disapointment was the Canadian Kalib Starnes, I know it's scary in there but if you're gonna run away, then you shouldn't be fighting in the UFC. For anyone who saw the coverage on the Canadian sports networks afterwards would have thought that Quarry was being an ass but watching the fight you'd know the guy was just (Understandably) frustrated as hell... it was even obvious that he felt regret for doing it after.
Anyone on this board lucky enough to have been there? Or at least in Montreal for the festivities after?

For those of you that have never woke up in hospital after a heated discussion :
To many rules to really be called a fight .More like a sport .Hard wrestling or mixed martial sports
But when you are not allowed to kick the plums ,bite ,gouge ,or use weapon's .It surely is a sport not a fight

Finally the analyst from Ireland weighs in. Yea if you can't slap the guys wife around then sneak up from behind him and kick him in the back, well that just won't fly with your audience2R wrote:For those of you that have never woke up in hospital after a heated discussion :

For the record...it was not a kick to the back...it was a "wake up call" to get his attention to turn around before the 'fists of fury' got really angry...that's what I was made to understand anyway...
If you're going to tell stories like Farley Mowat...don't forget about the part of using his face as an ashtray to put out one's last smoke.
PS: Thanks for baiting me into this topic...you're getting better @ luring the LARGE game...

Now this is a fight
Warning GORY and not for those of a sensitive disposition

The end is classic Cleese "I 'll bite your legs off"

If I had any clue that GSP had anything to do with Birdle's post...you know I'd be on it like that fat kid on a smartie
