Contract renewal.
Just wondering when the current WJ pilots contract comes up for renegotiation? Is there anything that's high on the list for the pilot group in terms of wants?

Humor. That Trailer park show hasn't taught you nothin'.
Sure. Over Clive's dead body. I hear when he was a kid he played cowboys and indians. Guess which one he wanted to be? Right. I'll take my clown suit anyday thanks. Minus the hat.we could have had your clown suits on day one had we asked.

I suggest you ask them to stop saying "that there" less during the PA's. (ie: "that there seat belt", "reach into that there seat pocket", "that there seat belt sign", "who owns that there cowboy hat?", etc)airform wrote:As everyone knows about the flight attendants lack of agreement....do you have any suggestions to help them?

Re: Contract renewal.
Two things:
They aren't 'contracts', as we aren't unionized employee groups. They are 'agreements'.
Secondly, it's not 'there', it's 'thar'. As in "That thar seat belt...".

Perhaps the WJ livery should include painting 'tires' on the top of the airplanes...but then again, that might attract tornadoes.

But back the contract/agreement issue, I do admire the relatively small size, and readability of the WJ pilot agreement. Unlike the 200+ page novel that we contend with...Written by lawyers for lawyers.

Re: Contract renewal.
Stick.
Our contract will always be 200 pages long. Yes it could be simplified but it would still be a thick book. We work in a much different environment and require a contract, not an "agreement". The day we have an agreement is the day I send out resumes. The contract is a necessary evil.

And the corollary would be true for most WJers: "The day we have a contract is the day I send out resumes".The day we have an agreement is the day I send out resumes.
Me, I'm slow. "The day I wake up unemployed is the day I send out resumes." Actually, if past history is any guide, the day I wake up unemployed is the day I spend a year drunk working under the table in some construction venture and then send out resumes."
Insert cougars in there somewhere.

More than an hour later. That took longer than I thought. And the corollary would be true for most WJers: "The day we have a contract is the day I send out resumes".
