Jazz managment
do empoyees feel the current managment at jazz is un-ethical in the conditions and or wages they impose on operational staff (ie ground staff, FAs, and pilots)?
Im curious,

Classy answer,
I mention this, as I recently flew Jazz, and it seems everyone is unhappy, and a FA I spoke with, mentioned their management was the source of most of the grief.

That FA probably represents the entire company too, that's a pretty good sampling you picked out.Strega wrote:Classy answer,

Either way...This is new in aviation...how? You must be new at this. You meet a single pilot that doesn't bitch and complain about something, especially management, I think you're authorized to tear his license up on the spot.
As a passenger, why not just sit back, drive some of those zesty little packed snacks into yourself, enjoy your comfy leather seat and leave the investigative reporting to the Enquirer? But I do give you kudos for travelling without some sort of guardian or escort. Good for you.

I like how you neglected to mention the Jazz AME's. We are a huge portion of that company.
Re: Jazz managment
Jazz has AME's??? ... Are you guys qualified to use anything other than Duct Tape or Prop Tape?I like how you neglected to mention the Jazz AME's. We are a huge portion of that company.
Just teasing ....

The FA's at Jazz are especially angry these days due to a french thingy that is going on and Jazz busting seniority over it. Rhumour has it, July is going to be a work to rule month for the FAs

The YYZ based F/A's (A scalers) are pissed not just with the company but their own union. It is fair to say that just about every working group is pissed these days and a lot of it has to do with the way senior management is handling things.

I dont understand why the senior managers of what could be a great company, are scewing the pooch sooo bad.

Re: Jazz managment
I had an opportunity to fly with Steve Linthwaite while I was at Jazz and I would have to say that he is an awesome guy. Extremely intelligent and understands the issues and the complaints that line pilots might have, it might not seem that way but trust me he knows. He is also pragmatic and works within a system that doesn't allow him very much play in his day to day dealings, I got the impression he was slightly frustrated that he couldn't do more. Leadership in these positions is extremely important and I think he gets that. I never flew with anyone that was better suited for that job than Steve, my opinion anyway.
But the senior managers I had no time for, only because it seemed like they had no time for the employees. You might have only heard from them once or twice a year and that’s not acceptable when trying to motivate a large workforce and tackle morale issues.

I had the chance to fly with Steve on the mighty Cessna 402. Great guy then and glad to hear nothing has changed.
I know both your DFO and ex DFO and hes a definate step up.

Yes... the current VP ops is an excellent guy. When I speak of senior managers I am referring more to the people who are tasked with making the decisions that affect the future growth of the company. Bottom line is that SL's hands are tied by what the others will allow him to do, and his scope of operational control is just that, flight operations.
The "benefits" of the CPA have been repeated to the employees and investors alike as some kind of "mantra". The CPA may ensure handsome divdends (though that will soon end), it limits what Jazz can do to grow it's business and diversify itself. Management has to start thinking a little more outside the box.
