Instructor Flight Test
Hey guys, Decided to do the instructor rating.
What have you guys heard is the most common flight testing lesson. I know to be prepared for all lessons, but what have you guys had for instructor flight tests. If it helps, Im doing it in ottawa.
Im dreading straight and level flight.. hahahahaha.

Re: Instructor Flight Test
It's interesting how the easiest handles of flight are the hardest to teach.
Re: Instructor Flight Test
I hear you're pretty much gonna teach something 1-9 then show off your skills

Re: Instructor Flight Test
Yeah didn't seem to be much rhyme or reason when my class went through. Most likely it will be some of the earlier fundamental lessons (5-9) to make sure you can teach the basics, then as someone said show of your skills for the tester with some of the more advanced lessons (forced approach is a favorite).
Re: Instructor Flight Test
Examiners can pick pretty much anything they want. But you do get some time to prepare, just as you would when you go out with a student. You get to read their PTR beforehand, and refresh anything you might need about the exercises you're going to work on.
Precision landings have been popular in Quebec lately. Doing them in zero wind, with some thermals is quite different from doing them with a 15 kts headwind.
Another thing, it might be a good idea to have something ready for night flying. Same for floats and IFR if you have those ratings.
Goodbye,
Louis
