Solo Today!

Post by swixtt »

well, i got to do my solo today!!
no time to get nervous up there as everything i did was as my instructor said i should do. kinda nice not having him in there as the plane leaped off the runway quite nicely and had great performance in the climb out!
the wind was nice to me too. 5 knots almost direct down the runway... and remained relatively consistant until touch-down. even got to follow out a Hawker Air North plane.... never even heard of that kind before!!
so, i'm having a pretty good day today!
thanks for listening!

Congratulations, something you will never forget, ever. I still remember CZVL Tower instructing me to stop and return to pick up my instructor after my 5th circuit, apparently he forgot to inform me that I was only supposed to do one!!

haaa, that is classic!! well you must have been feeling pretty good!! say, how long would you have gone if nobody said anything??

i'll be working a lot on my landings and really get them down. our strip 16/34 and almost always has a xwind blowing nicely accross it! i feel good on the approaches but always get nervous getting to close to the pavement... air speed is slowing down, the wind is always the most crazy down there, plus i have less time to adjust everything for those sudden gusts. i am learning though and really trying hard to absorb it as best i can. just need to get out there often as this seems to be the biggest advantage. just keeping at it.

thanks guys... i am enjoying every minute of this. it has been a long time coming and can't quite believe i'm doing it.

say again? 20+ knots and gusting... not the most comfy conditions for me.
