Hi, Fellow Aviators.
I need some advice.
I just got my PPL with about 100 hours. (25 PIC and 75 Dual)
My final goal is to get my CPL with Multi-IFR.
My current goal is to get my CPL at the minimum 200 hours and
Multi-IFR right after.
I am not sure what to do next.
Either get some solo VFR hours first and do Commercial instrument time with my instructor on later
or
do my CPL instrument time first and do my solo x-countries later after I do all of my duals for my CPL.
If I do my solo x-countries first, I'll get more experience with the planes, thus better understaning with my dual IFR hours with my instructor.
If I do my CPL IFR first with my instructor and do my solo x-countries later, I can maybe practice IFR stuff that I learned with my instructor and get more experience with IFR stuff.
I have TT 100.
Solo X-country 6 hours.
Solo Total: 25 Hours.
How did you guys do with your CPL?
Thanks in advance

I already searched for my IFR ground school and the next Aerocourse IFR groundschool is held
in September.
So it wouldn't be a good idea to do all of my CPL IFR work way before the grond school?
And sorry, one more question.
Do you guys know if I can print off "TC Instrument Procedure Manual" from TC website?
Thanks

why not get the minimums to do the flight test. As far as I know there are mins to get your license and there are mins to do the flight test which are obviouly lower than to get the license. The CPL flight test isn't really that different from the private. I believe there are only 2 or 3 additional items besides flying the other ones a higher level.
What I suggest NOT doing is taking a long break from dual instruction to do all your solo x/country. Chances are you'll pick up some bad habits that will take even longer to fix when you finally do go back to the dual environment.
There is also the option of doing your CPL flight test still shy of the CPL requirements and then using the time you build up in the MIFR (instrument time mainly) to qualify for CPL. After you've finished the MIFR just apply for the CPL.

When you end up doing your x-c stuff, make sure you do as much as possible at night (helps when it comes to the ATPL requirements.)

why not save time and money and do the mifr as part of your cpl time?? it all counts towards your dual and instrument requirements.

To be a good commercial MIFR pilot, you have to be a good VFR pilot first. IMO The best thing you can do for the build up time needed to finish the advanced training is to get out your comfort zone flying in the FTU environment, and go on a long cross country. Buy 50 hrs of block time and plan a big trip accross Canada and down into the US. You will get invaluable real world experience and apply all those skills you have learned so far towards the practical demands of getting an airplane from A to B; which after all is the point of commercial aviation.

dont leave the written to the last min. you need to write it before your flight test. the min requirment to write is...dundundun 100 hours.
assuming you wrote your ppl written not too long ago. Id suggest buffing up on the stuff you studied and learn all of the extra stuff you'll find on the cpl test and get it out of the way.
you are allowed to do your flight test at 150 hours.
