I AGREE I call for an avcanadian revolution!!!! The people in power do not serve the majority, they serve special interest "Mentor Program" posters. I for one will not tolerate such abuse of power. Today I wasted a click on the Mentor Program, that was valuable time that I'll never get back... wait I should go, got stuff to do :)

I agree. It seems silly to have such a popular forum way down at the bottom. And if it's an attempt to get folks to notice other under-utilized topics while searching for the Misc, it likely won't work. We'll just get used to scrolling down quickly to the one we want - or quit going there and it's viewership will drop. And if it's supposed to bolster the Mentor forum, again I think that unlikely. If it was worthwhile it would have caught on by now.

This is being debated right now. Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts on how things should be laid out.

It should be however Joe thinks it should be.

It is AVCanada... maybe things AViation related need to take more of a front seat.

Besides, I think peeps are going to click on the Misc forum no matter where it is in the list.......

You will all get used to it.

Remember PPrune!? The owner was a bit fed up with all the non aviation crap that was posted in a particular forum, so he sent Jetblast (the equivalent of Misc.Forum in Avcanada) all the way to the bottom and it survived.

It actually made me start clicking in forums I wouldn't otherwise

When you log in, just click "view new posts". It's top right on the page, and saves you from having to check any sub-forums. The only times you would sroll through the forum list are to start a topic, or search out an inactive thread.

I agree that it's Joe's board, his choice.

Agree. Now everyone will scroll down and also see forums they may not view normally, or at least notice if there is new interest in other topics and perhaps take a gander. Those who post to Misc will continue posting there regardless methinks.

:prayer: Joe, we're not worthy!

Having a standard that pilots lose their licence after making a mistake despite doing no harm to aircraft or passengers means soon you needn't worry about a pilot surplus or pilots offering to fly for free. Where do you get your experience from?

If it must go down in the basement put it all the way at the bottom, same as they did at PPRuNe. :smt102

Snoopy, having a preference for a more convenient layout is not anywhere near the same thing as being afraid of change. Certainly Joe can do anything he wants since he runs the joint, all we're doing is expressing our own thoughts and preferences. Interesting that when you don't agree you make an obtuse, off track kind of statement intended as a challenge. Oh well.

As Endless said earlier, this, among other things, is being debated by the Mods and Joe, so we do appreciate any and all feedback... Trash talking not required. If you have a suggestions about this, or any other areas where you think the site could be improved, please PM one of us your thoughts.

Well since you asked, I think it'd be a great idea to have a forum devoted to Accidents. Then Widow would never get ragged for posting them, we'd have an area where we could freely speculate [even if we're totally wrong!] and think about the issues involved, and you could even have thread with a compendium of stats and reports about accidents relevant to a specific type! Say I was going to get on a Caravan, I could go read the Caravan Accidents thread and figure out how I'm most likely going to kill myself! What a pleasure, now I won't have to kill myself that way.

OK I'm probably overdoing it but I think it deserves a category. You could even chat about Mayday episodes and stuff. Accidents are interesting.

So with it being the number 2 viewed and posted in fourm on this site it is not included in the "TOP FORUMS" Section. I don't know about you all but I think placing second would warrant being included in the "TOP" Anything.

5x5, you said: "Interesting that when you don't agree you make an obtuse, off track kind of statement intended as a challenge."

I'm sorry if you find my humorous (see the rolling eyes?!), broad observation obtuse, and off track, and you think I'm challenging (you) ???

The moderators have now asked for your feedback in response to all the complaining, so you now have the means to support your case and be heard. Did you think to ask why this heinous crime might have been committed? Would you listen to, and consider the answer before your condemnation continues? Perhaps somebody had a good reason. On a quick glance, it occurs to me that maybe someone wanted a little more substance and purpose to the main focus of the board. If everyone attacks before questioning the reason for a change and first considering the true merit of the answers, does that not appear to be resistance to change?

My question is, in the scope of your life, how important is it? The placement of an off-colour forum, in an anonymous board, sponsored "for free", by somebody else who volunteers their time to maintain it?

I thought aviation was about real airplanes, real places and real people?

Just some food for thought.

Cheers,
snoopy

I haven't been on in a while and I thought maybe the PC crowd had forced that forum to be totally removed. I know you poor cannucks don't have the same free speech rights we do down here. No tribunals for McClains reporters here in the southlands. Anyway, I like that forum and i think "top forums" should include the top forums. My polite and considered request would be to move it back up.
