MCAS Miramar Airshow

Post by Nark »

I had the pleasure of attending this years show. While its going all weekend, this is what I took today, or at least what I'm willing to share.

I can't help but think this looks like it came from a video game.

Oh my God ... all that smoke and flames ... don't
tell me someone tried to land on a runway, with
another aircraft in the turnaround bay?!

God forbid

Nice shots, Nark! I was seriously thinking about taking a few days off to go down and see the show. I'm almost disappointed that it looks like it was really good now ;)

Tweaked one of your pictures, I hope you don't mind:

Went there several years ago. They had a very good night airshow as well.

Just got back from the night show, sorry no pics.

IT was pretty good, it started with a AT-6 Texan (Harvard for you folks) with flairs coming from various parts with a belly full of flashing lights. He came to show center with the theme from the twilight zone. It matched pretty well with the music, which made it pretty creepy.

I missed a few things because I was doing something, but then caught the tail end fireworks show. Have to say, it rivaled the Symphony of Fire from years past. The end was a Wall of Fire, that was delayed thanks to an earlier rain. Once the EOD bubba's did their thing, they set it off and was a great conclusion to the day's events.

Definitely one of the best airshows I've been too. I'm a huge dork when it comes to aviation, and I was in heaven.

If I was flying one of those fighters (you know, and didn't have glasses and asthma etc.) I would be pondering wake turbulence in a whole new way!

OH boy here we go again :smt014 .... Give it a rest would you. An active air show runway is nothing like the rest of the time in aviation world... Even I am starting to think your an idiot with childish posts like this... Continuing an online path like this is akin to a fly trying to get out a closed window, you think you see light coming from the other side but some invisible force keeps you from achieving your goals...

PS: Practicing more off-side snaps would be a better use of your time then 5000+ posts. That way they would not be so sloppy.
