Re: Any one else out there
I presume you are referring to being bent over for your license renewal? At least we don't have to get the annual (or semi-annual as they get older) medicals like the pilots do.

Yeah. After I pay $55/yr to TC plus $80/yr to the doc for a Class 1 medical, $115 every what, five years? ten years? is hardly anything.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

You have to pay to renew your ame license?
Does that happen in the states?

Yeah and we don't have to deal with bed pans...I'd say lav's but thats a apprentice job
Lust kidding, when you feel you're above the shit jobs, everyone hates you. AME licenses don't require physicals do they...they probably should though. Pilots licenses are wierd my uncle has a wierd lukemia that rears its ugly head once in a while but he still got his license. I guess they are just afraid you're gonna drop dead at the stick. They don't mind if you're a "customer of size" and die up it the vertical stab.

Usually you are trying to keep the weight up so you can't fit into the holebombardierfixer wrote:They don't mind if you're a "customer of size" and die up it the vertical stab.

But I still managed to get my big frame into fuel tanks, V-stabs (the 727 actually wasn't too bad) and up the tail pipe of a Allison 501 to leak check the scavenge pump.
Somehow I managed to avoid lavs until I was licensed and contracting. I was mostly on cargo machines and a new apprentice started on my crew a few weeks after me.

Re: Any one else out there
I was referring to the other licenced engineers that had let thier licences lapse. $115.00 Canadian for 5 years of fun, is less than most pub tabs for the night.
It would be shame if all that talent went to waste.
