Almost happened a few months ago. Emirates 380 into JFK almost diverted to YYZ. So it's not outside the realm of possibility.

I heard Air France plans to put the A380 on CDG-YUL. Not sure about YYZ.

I'm sure we (Emirates) will be using it for YYZ as soon as we get enough hulls on the property (only three so far of the 55 ordered I think?). The loads on the B777 are always full and with the restriction in place between Canada and UAE that limits the number of weekly flights, I'm sure they would want to get around that by using an aircraft with more lift...right now they're tied up with JFK and LHR "flagship" flights, but once more machines start arriving...

Falls in the same catagory as "almost winning the lottery" or " almost got pregnant". Non event.

Emirates base manager was on the way into the airport and they were about to call the media. (as it would have been the first A380 in YYZ) But then the plane landed in JFK and it became a non-event.
