Ok stupid question here but just trying to find the proper way to get TAT from OAT, Google appears to be giving me a formula that doesn't work with the question I have....

What is the question you have?

Well actually a series of questions concerning Mach/TAS/CAS etc
And If I use what I have been given from google:
TAT=OAT(1x(.9(M^2)))
where M= mach the answers are coming up wrong...
That being said the electronic E6B has no problem doing them, id just like to know how the ghost in the machine is doing it before I write my Saron
-seems like the prudent thing to do.....

Make sure you are using absolute temperature (Kelvin or Rankine) rather than F or C. I also thought it was TAT=OAT(1+(.2(M^2))). I could be mistaken as I am no math whiz and have never done these calculations before. Hope it helps.

TAT = SAT*(1+0.2*M^2)
Where M is Mach number and temperatures are absolute (Kelvin or Rankine)
try this one
