Heard Suncor is laying off and getting rid of a CRJ.

No, not really.

Just a rumour.
All 3 CRJ's are still flying just about every day. They would stop using most of the charter companies before they dump their own pilots and aircraft.
When they gear up out of "safe mode" it's easier to pick up charter companies again than it is to find and train new (experienced pilots), if they laid off some of the ones they have now. I just can't see it right now.
