Just wondering did anyone else get an invite for interviews at the end of the month?

I got one in April, not sure if I will be going. Is your interview in Hong Kong or Antwerp? Proposed pay and taking a paycut is definately making it hard to move to Singapore, just for flying an A300-600F.

Singapore, I can't make the interview, I'm going to try reschedule but not overly upset if they can't as the pay is a little on the low side and I need to investigate further if you can even live on what they are offering in Singapore.

I agree, not too sure if you can survive off US$3K a month in Singapore

Min. is 3000 TT with 1000 Jet for FO on the A300-600F. 3 year training bond, training is in Toulouse at Airbus.
However they have a hard time finding crews, cause Air HK pay is very low. I heard of pilots getting interviews with less time then the minimums. Very hard to survive in Singapore on US$3K. After taxes you net around $2400. A cheap appartment rents for $1200 to 1500/ month, so you have $900 for living expenses left. A beer is around $10 in a pub and western food is very expensive. Of course, with this kind of money you can't afford a car.
By the way Air Hong Kong is owned 70% by Cathay and 30% DHL. No flow through to Cathay. I guess you can call it Cathays low cost cargo airline.

When did the pay drop to 3 grand a month?? Last I was in touch with them it was 5 grand. I also find it ironic that the guys in charge right now, who are on loan from Cathay are making 25 grand a month!!

Are they? That's certainly not the trend in Canada!

Pimper:

Well, if they told you that the wages are going up, great. However, don't believe what they tell you, read your COS and contract you will sign, cause that is what counts.

The first guys who got hired a while ago directly through Cathay are on higher salaries then the ones Air HK management is trying to recruit presently.

When is your interview?

Pimper, you sound indignant about wages going down, or did I just misunderstand you in the Jetsgo thread?
