new licence booklet

Post by rotateandfly »

Hey guys,

im entirely not in the loop about the new licence booklet and have some questions. I used the search function and browsed the TC website for a bit but still wondering how you guys went about doing it.
I'm a PPL and have never taken a language proficiency test and it doesnt say anything about it on my old licence which was issued in 2004. However, on the online resource of TC it says im "Expert" in both English and French,

will it say that on my new licence then no test required???

Who did you get to verify your photograph? What do you do when you're abroad?

Not sure about the language part, but I just got my brother to do the photo verification. Doesn't need to be anyone special, you just need someone with a passport or other ID number you can put on the form.

Language proficiency will be determined by the language you wrote your exams in, and the language indicated on your medical for publications.

Unless you did both languages. If you haven't applied to TC for the licence, and want both languages endorsed, you will have to do the oral comp test prior to application.

Anyone who has a passport essentially can sign off yor photo as long as they have known you long enough.

When the language proficiency test was implemented all pilots that currently held a license were grandfathered from taking the test. I never took one either. I think this is how it went.
