I'm usually all for Canadian teams, but in this case I hope they lose.

Why? because the only city out there that riots more then Vancouver for stupid reasons is Montreal.

If they do well, no matter if they win or lose in the end, there will be a riot.

Nah Widow.. Its all in the luck of the draw for the boys. Draft picks usually choose where you go (unless your Gretzky,.. cause even Uber kid S. Crosby went south for the $$$$) As for the Ducks..I kinda want them to win so the Hawks will have home ice in the conference finals. Other then that I dont know much about them or even care

I agree completely with lurch on this one. Vancouver riots for the stupidest imaginable reasons. No matter what the outcome, Vancouvers idiots will again hit the streets and give Canada another international black eye. Oh well..I dont live out there anymore so its your problem now lol. I love the city..but the riots are shameful.

But truth be told I am an avid fan of ANY Canuck team that makes the finals. Its just too bad that two good Canadian teams are in the way of the Hawks this year.

Hawks in 7.

Cheers

Like most people, I have "my team" which happens to be the Habs. I loved them since I was a kid and since I'm a loyal guy, I will never switch. After that, I cheer for teams based on their players. Patrick Sharp is from Thunder Bay so I cheer for the Hawks... I also like a lot of the other young talent on the team. I really like Ovechkin, Backstrom and Semin, so go Caps. Pyatt is another Thunder Bay boy, so I will cheer for the Canucks in certain situations... the problem there is I really dislike the Sedin's. Don't ask why, I just do. I also really like Luongo... hardest working tender in the league IMHO. Any team with a Staal I'll cheer for... again, Thunder Bay boys.

All that said, players play where they are told. They sometimes have somewhat of a choice, but 99 percent of the time, they don't. And the majority of the players in the league are Canadian, so even if they wanted to stay at home, not all of them could.

14 of 27 Ducks are Canadian - 52 percent
9 of 22 Thrasher - 41 percent
15 of 24 Bruins - 63 percent
11 of 25 Sabres - 44 percent
21 of 30 Flames - 70 percent
12 of 31 Hurricanes - 39 percent
20 of 31 Blackhawks - 65 percent
20 of 32 Avalanche - 63 percent
21 of 35 Blue Jackets - 60 percent
13 of 28 Stars - 46 percent
7 of 24 Red Wings - 29 percent
21 of 27 Oilers - 78 percent
13 of 24 Panthers - 54 percent
11 of 26 Kings - 42 percent
15 of 25 Wild - 60 percent
12 of 25 Canadiens - 48 percent
15 of 22 Predators - 68 percent
9 of 25 Devils - 36 percent
12 of 26 Islanders - 46 percent
9 of 21 Rangers - 43 percent
16 of 25 Senators - 64 percent
16 of 23 Flyers - 70 percent
11 of 26 Coyotes - 42 percent
13 of 25 Penguins - 52 percent
14 of 25 Sharks - 56 percent
14 of 24 Blues - 58 percent
10 of 27 Lightning - 37 percent
14 of 27 Leafs - 52 percent
15 of 25 Canucks - 60 percent
9 of 24 Capitals - 38 percent

412 of 781 active players are Canadian... that's 53 percent of the league. which accounts for approximately 16 full teams. Seeing as we only have 6 teams in Canada, well, if they want to play, some are going to have to go south. The money and weather are better anyway, so why wouldn't you want to? Either way, whatever team you cheer for, you're cheering for a "Canadian" made team.

When I was growing up, there was not NHL team in Ottawa, therefore, my hockey fanning was purely devoted to following my boyfriends around to their games and rooting for whoever they loved in the NHL. Dad likes golf

Besides, when my family first came to Canada, they started right here on Vancouver Island. Therefore, I consider myself a "born again" BCite.

Oh, and Canadian boys or not, I LOVE the twins!

Of course you do... you're a Canucks fan. I guess I don't really dislike them... I dislike all the hype they get in the media. They aren't that good.... sorry, they're not. But they are a key component of the Canucks... I know they'll never be split up, but I'd like to see them play as well as they do and score as many points as they do separated. They would just be another average player.

Go Sharp!!! and Hawks!!!

Well, the 'Hawks just scored.. looks like the Schmucks will have to do a little more work that just sitting back and trying to defend a lead of one goal...

Haha... yep. I'm watching the game as well. That's Vancouver for you... they depend on Luongo waaaaay too much. There are teams that can defend their 1 goal lead quite well, but the Canucks are not one of them, especially against a fast, young team like the Hawks.

Next goal wins... GO HAWKS!!! :smt040

You're lucky Nark... wish I could attend a game, but there isn't one around for a thousand miles... or more.

BTW, it's gonna be Detroit/Chicago in the Western Conference finals... how can you cheer for a team called the Ducks? :smt040

Rioting?

Isn't that call team spirit?

Excessive team spirit maybe, but we're just happy to have something to scream about.

I don't remember a riot in Vancouver, when did that happen?

But if the Canucks lose, it sucks. We hate losing when we're the best hockey nation.

At least I can remember one riot/celebration in Winnipeg. It was when the Blue Bombers won the Grey Cup. A couple of guys jumped on the hood of our car and were yelling plus there were alot of people in the streets screaming and jumping. It wasn't a major riot but it was one.
