Looking at buying a cub.

Post by sdogg0 »

Looking at buying a new airplane, really interested in a classic piper cub.(mostly due to cheap cost) Wondering what the replacment times on engines(price), props, and any other common faults of these planes.
Also whats it cost to recover and paint this aircraft. Any info would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, want to run floats as well.
Thanks
(also posted in maintance, any info would be greatly appreciated.)

Cubs are fantastic airplanes. Everyone wants one. That is a disadvantage to you if you are looking for cheap cost. There are more undervalued aircraft on the market such as Cessna 120/140, Taylorcraft, Luscombe, Fleet Canuck, etc. which are capable machines as well.

Keep that in mind.
