B762 Return!
Rumours floating around of some B762s returning from the desert. Can anyone confrim? TS or JS? Heard one maybe Fin 604 the Gimli Glider, back in service Jun 15th.

Re: B762 Return!
They found an extra 400 hours of flying for widebodies for the summer. I also heard about the return of the 200s but during sim recently they told us not to take that one too seriously. The more credible rumor is that of a handful of more A330s. Who knows. All rumors, nothing solid. Funny how the analysts keep saying we should be shrinking.
Re: B762 Return!
I wouldn't think so, I mean they just went on a marketing blitz regarding XM on all the aircraft. Tony's A330 theory sounds more plausible. Bound to find out in the next few days if it's true.

Best of luck, guys & Gals... Hope it's a good equipment bid.

Good luck with that guys...hope it works out.
OTOH, aren't 762's hard on fuel? You'd think that with the price rising, you'd look for a more efficient machine?

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Re: B762 Return!
Just wondering. Cause you know how rumors get going. AC announced last month that 2 767-300 would not be returned to leasers at the end of the year as had previously been announced. They would instead stay in the fleet. I think as a result of Rome coming back and an up tick in some Asia frequencies.
I have no idea if these aircraft had been removed in bid 08-02. Even if they had been, and now will show back, I doubt it will cause much of an up tick, if at all. The 767 is still fat particularly on the CA side.

Re: B762 Return!
The FA'S manual updates included adding the 200 back in this month. Gives a pretty good indication.

Re: B762 Return!
The 767-200 section was never removed from the F.A. manual. The update this month is only because there was a change to a 767-300 procedure so the 200 has to be updated as well. It usually takes months before an aircraft is removed from F.A. manuals. But....you never know.
Re: B762 Return!
400 hours over a summer is good news, but could that not be absorbed by the widebody fleet that is already in place? Seems like a good opportunity to increase the aircraft daily usage. Also, I thought the A330s were going to be phased out, or are they keeping them around until the 787s arrive?

Was it in Air Canada colors? There are a few cargo -200's around these days...

That image is a perfect metaphor for what has happened to AC since 2003.

HAHAHAHAHA Oh Glen, that made my day.
Isn't it a shame though that a multi million dollar has been stripped apart like this
They could have spent those dollars on african children.

That would be Transat's colour.Crown_n_Coke wrote:Yep, AC colours - white body but blue tail.
Transat was rumoured to have picked up some -200's with US registration.
Re: B762 Return!
No 762's for Transat, there is another A330-300 in YUL this week getting refurbished in time for the winter though.
