Insurance Costs
Can anyone please advise on a rough estimate for Insurance costs for a 172 if the person is a new PPL?

Where do you live? You should contact an insurance company as there are too many variables including type of coverage, hull value, time on type, accidents etc. In Canada COPA offers the best coverage / price I have found. In Canada with a hull value of say $45,000 you could expect to pay $1500 - $2500 depending on time etc.
