Air Canada flight diverts to Boeing Field

SEATTLE (AP) - An Air Canada flight from Toronto has landed safely at Boeing Field rather than Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after reports of a problem with a wing component.
Federal Aviation Administration operations officer Karen Byrd says the pilot of Flight 541 wanted a long runway as a safety precaution after reporting a flap problem. Sea-Tac's longest runway is undergoing reconstruction so the flight diverted to nearby Boeing Field, which has a roughly 10,000-foot runway. Byrd says the plane landed without incident at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. There were no reports of injuries.
Byrd says the plane was a twin-jet Embraer 190 but she did not know how many were on board.
Sea-Tac spokesman Perry Cooper says he understood Flight 541 carried 79 people.

Update;
An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FHNL performing flight AC-541 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Seattle,WA (USA) with 79 people on board, was on approach to Seattle, when the crew reported flaps problems, aborted the approach and decided to divert to the Boeing Field because of the 10000ft long runway available there, while the longest runway at Seattle Tacoma Airport was closed for maintenance. The airplane landed safely at a higher speed than usual.
