Any new WJ CSAs????

I am currently in the hiring pool for a CSA position at YEG. I was successful at the group interview in april but couldnt go to training then because I was still in high school. I am taking this year off school to work and then going to mount royals aviation program. Now that summers over I am very eager to get into training and start the job. I am wondering if any CSAs or other westjetters know anything that would give me an idea of when training sessions will take place? I know that they have frozen hiring since june but now there are starting to be lots of positions available for different jobs or locations so my hopes are starting to rise and hopefully it will be soon! Any insight would be much appreciated!

Airports hiring is at a stand still. Unless operationally required, all back-filling must be signed off by at least a VP. I wouldn't count on a job until late 2010 or early 2011 at the earliest; most stations are overstaffed by 10-20 CSAs.

Those positions you're seeing are mostly secondment opportunities which will be filled internally.

Airports always seem to hire. Can't speak for YEG, or the staffing levels at the moment, but there always seems to be new faces around.
I'd email the HR dept and see if you can get a direct answer, we can only guess.

I already have. They said they can guarantee me a spot in the next training session however they would not comment on when it will be.

Flystraightin: are you at YYJ? I fly out of there quite a bit. Also how are you doing your pilots licence?

I guess I will just have to be patient. I really wish I wouldnt have had school in april because I could have got into that training session. Oh well....
