Jumpseat Embargo by WestJet
Westjet has advised AC jumpseat committe that "Westjet intends on embargoing the Jumpseat program too and from YVR during the Olympic period"
Just a reminder guys this is a "Recipical agreement" I know Westjetters use AC alot too and from YVR (because were free with more flights). Hope you guys can talk to your people and explain that this works both ways.
Cheers

Re: Jumpseat Embargo by WestJet
This has got to be a joke. What possible reason could they have for saying no to a someone on standby?
Hold my beer and watch this!

Our WJPA Jumpseat rep has commented that he has not heard anything about this but that he would make some phone calls when he gets back from Vacation and to stand by....sounds like an ugly rumor.......again

Well unless ACPA is having delusional phone calls it isn't a rumor. ACPA has been informed by someone on your side that WJ's intent is to embargo the Olympics. There is only one thing I can think of and it is Communication. Either WJ and ACPA have a communication issue or your jumpseat rep on vacation has one.Amateur Turbines wrote:Our WJPA Jumpseat rep has commented that he has not heard anything about this but that he would make some phone calls when he gets back from Vacation and to stand by....sounds like an ugly rumor.......again
With that said thank you for looking into it. Keep it going because I like the option and don't want to loose it.
Thanks for the ride yesterday by the way. Our overseas stuff came in late to YYZ due the winds creating havoc. I didn't feel comfortable just walking into the flight deck. Not in uniform and all. Never had a chance to see a flight deck crew on the way out either.
Re: Jumpseat Embargo by WestJet
Rumour is false..... It is status quo during the big "O". The jumpseat is open on our flights. There has been a call made to the ACPA guys to make sure this rumour is stopped. It has also been put out to our guys/gals to make sure nobody is denied.

Well it's happening again with the reciprocal jumpseat and this time I can't sit back and remain silent........... Well here goes, I was sitting in the flight deck of the 767 operating a flight form YVR-YYZ when the skipper was asked for the coupon from our gate agent. He filled out his portion and told the agent to ask the "jumper" to fill the remainder. Fifteen minutes before departure a Westjet pilot strolls into our cockpit with two coffee's and a box of timbits. On the return flight chocolates were brought to the flight deck.???? I am on day 65 of P90X and I ate at least 6 timbits on that first flight. Do you not want me to be fit???
In all serious appreciate the gesture, hope it's working for both sides.

Thrust set, how are you finding P90X? I have it, yet to try it as I'm recovering from a shoulder problem. How does it work for you on the road?

awesome program. sometimes you have to switch the work-out order a bit to acommodate lack of pull up bar on the road. try to use weights instead of bands, you'll get way better results.

KAG,
Before you start, plan on how you are going to accomplish the routines with our busy travel schedules. I print out my AC schedule and then mark the routines down on each given day with an allocated time. Be familiar with what supplies you will need to carry on certain days and what hotel you will be staying at and what kind of fitness facility you can utilize. On the chest day I take a set of push-up bars that I can take apart and travel with. On a back workout I have certain hotels that work perfect for this program and if I'm somewhere that the hotel facility is inadequate, I take a set of resistance bands with a door jam hook that allows you to work the back muscles.
I have the whole program on my iphone so I can watch it in my hotel room if I choose. Overseas I tend to use the sauna / hot tubs more for a muscle maintence and I feel rest is as important as diet. This is my second time around the patch with the P90X ,I felt before I failed to plan and as soon as I started missing or switching things around things started falling of the rails for me.
I do give this program a strong recommendation if you are dedicated enough to last the 90 days.
Good luck.( hope I can make it)
Cheers
