Bid in January!!!
Hey guys,
I was wondering, what is you're expectation for the bid coming out in January?? Do you anticipate more flying for this summer?? I've been bump out of my base last month and try to find out when I'm gonna be able to hold it back again!!!
Thanks

Re: Bid in January!!!
From a P2P conference call that we had last week, the CRC will meet with the company once the company has the new flying numbers from AC. This should happen in early January. Then a decision will be made whether or not to put out a bid.

Hopefully all pilots get re-instated so I can go back to bidding senior reserve. This junior reserve thing isn't nearly as much fun

Anyone know when its coming out?

Re: Bid in January!!!
I think the flying numbers were supposed to come out yesterday, so I assume that the CRC will meet any day now to look things over. Regardless, I will send a quick note to P2P land, and should have a solid answer within 24-48 hours (maybe longer due to the weekend). If I forget to post the answer on here, just ask anyone in a red ALPA lanyard in the coming days. If they've been checking their e-mails they should have the answer.

Have you heard any good or bad rumours? I can't afford another cut in RJ flying, I'm barely holding that plane as it is.

Re: Bid in January!!!
email the CRC Chair to see if he can share any numbers but i don't think things have been finalized just yet
ALPA works very closely with the company during every equipment bid in order to convince them to do the right thing. at the end of the day it is completely up to the company to decided whether to reduce or increase numbers.
an AMES will be published and he is working on an equipment specific blog this time around

Thanks I'll await the memo and I'll send the CRC an email. Cheers!

I don't think the CRC will give out any info. prior to the bid being published, after all if they tell one, then they would have to tell all.
Re: Bid in January!!!
Does anybody have a date? Will it come out next week or at the end of the month???
Re: Bid in January!!!
I sent in a question to ALPA and here is the response from Rod Lypchuk on January 11th: "They (Jazz and the CRC) are working on the bid right now. We will not have the final numbers for a few more days." Sounds to me like we should have the bid in our hands any time now. My speculative gut feeling is next week, but I'm still crossing my fingers for tomorrow.

Sounds good. Any idea on which way it'll go? Could change very fast if WJ starts taking more Jazzers

Re: Bid in January!!!
i heard WJ is hiring and TC is also looking for quite a few
i expect that ACJ will not consider this fact which would be very shortsighted in my opinion

Thanks Mattefred. Any idea when S.T.'s "expansion plans outside the CPA" can be expected? Or should we just pretend like it'll never happen?
Re: Bid in January!!!
S.T.'s expansion plans are well laid out right?

Good, Bad, No change????
Re: Bid in January!!!
They are saying no layoffs but base reductions.....again. But they are waiting till February 1st to release the numbers because they are still in talks with Air Canada about the upcoming schedule. So the CRC is saying that the numbers could change.....keeping my fingers crossed barely holding on to my seat that I have.
following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.

So the only hiring, if any, would be because of people leaving?Mclovin wrote:They are saying no layoffs but base reductions.....again. Re: Bid in January!!!
Anyone know if the company takes into account the wdo factor when looking in crewing requirements? This is getting a tad frustrating, that the company sees that we're overstaffed on types and/or bases and wdoing everyday or almost everyday.
Re: Bid in January!!!
not in all bases. I haven't been able to get WDO in about 2 months now.

Re: Bid in January!!!
Do you know how many pilots above you have been called in on a wdo? Way back when, I signed up for a few (when we still hiring), never got called, but a few above me did.
Re: Bid in January!!!
No idea! I've given up on trying to reason the logic behind it. I know for a fact that a few times now, people who weren't listed were called and GOT a WDO before the ones that were listed. Ironic isn't it!
