What's up in Vancouver?
Any jobs rumours?
Company changes?
Growth somewhere? More layoffs?
What's happening out there?

^ What he said...
"...flying airplanes is really not all that difficult so it attracts some of the most mentally challenged people in society." - . .

Want a job grooming planes?
Orca seems to need dispatchers? * no jokes* Aside from that...
In all seriousness.. not much is going on. With the olympics coming and the industry slowdown I doubt YVR will see alot of movement.. Unless, WJ, CMA, JAZZ go on a hiring spree. I'd say YVR would be the worst place to be if you are looking for a flying job or even worse, your first job.
The load factors for the 703-705's seem to be way way down as well..when its this close to christmas.. its disturbing
When I came back from elsewhere this season I thought I landed in the twilight zone when it came to industry jobs.. there's no signs of life LOL
Give it time.. she'll pick up

Agreed not much movement in the job front but loads are WAY up over last xmas. At least in cargo. It has been 10 days of non stop flying. At least half again last xmas. About time.

MTW.
Good to hear. I think things have begun slower than normal. (maybe I am wrong?)
On another note, pax loads have picked up since my last post.. so there is a Christmas rush after all!
Do they still have that 72 hour notice charter restriction for you guys during the Olympics?
I think movement will be better than last year.. but still nowhere near pre 9/11 meltdown levels.

Re: What's up in Vancouver?
I don't know if the ISU actually knows what the plan is going to be during the Olympics. Could go either way I suppose. We've been doing better the last couple of months. Generally in the winter months the turbines sit a lot more than they have this year which has been good. And spring/summer is looking ok too. Recession over and out.

EDIT: Just noticed I have 703 posts. Maybe I should stop there as 703 seems to be where I'll be for the next 30 years. LOL

MTW,
x2..
The gameplan seems to have a tad of fluidity..
Good for DND tho LOL.. The biggest peacetime militrary operation at the taxpayer expense.. (expense includes jobs, freedoms etc.) Do the CF18 drivers get to log the time spent sitting at the end of 12/30 with engines running 24/7 for the three months?
