Hi there
Quick question
Can a 737-700 depart YDF (6000") and go non-stop to LHR? It's 2100nm and lets say the oat is 20c. If not with a full load then how about 80% or so? I know you guys don't have the exact numbers at hand but an educated guess will do.

Re: ?
Quick guess is yes, done YQT to PUJ (Punta Cana) in the 700. The distance is about the same and the runway is 6'200 ft with a full load of guests (136) don't remember the MTOW. It was winter but thrust was reduced, if the runway was contaminated ie. standing water, no go.
Re: ?
the 700 must be a heck of a performer compared to the 300 then!
As an example....All -300 numbers using 22k thrust: From Volume 1 flaps 5/Dry Runway/Sea Level approx. 124,000 pounds runway limited...that was using 72F..bleeds auto..bleeds off gives you about another 800 pounds..engine anti-ice on takes back 600 pounds..not sure on the -700 ZFW but if you had that number and the burns you could get a very rough estimate....I am surprised its as high as 124k to be honest. I operate a -300 out of a 6000 foot runway and that would be heavy out of there...you should note as soon as you go up 2,000 feet in elevation performance deteriorates quickly.
As far as the -300 goes...
Most of the -300's ZFW's are about 105,000 pounds...so you have room for about 19,000 pounds of fuel..based on our burns GCM-JFK/ORD with a full ship you would be very limited with what you could take out of a 6,000 foot runway in terms of pax/cargo 'if' you wanted to go 2100 nm non-stop...as an example 13,000 pounds is our typical min fuel GCM-MIA which is about 500 nm...

Thanks for going to the trouble to look it up CAL. I am curious more about the 700. Here's alittle background on what I'm getting at.
A couple of uears ago Astraeus Airlines was operating Gatwick-Deer Lake-St.John's-Gatwick. I think it was aimed primamrily at a holiday resort near YDF but they were picking up pax in YYT before going on to gatwick. I guessing that the YYT stop was more about the tight squeeze out of YDF than about pax out of YYT. The latter was "gravey" so to speak. Just wondering how tight it actually was out of YDF in the -700. Sounds doable.

How about PHLI (Lihue. Kauai, Hawaii) non-stop YVR in a 737-800 off a 6500 foot strip... Flap 25, bump thrust... Fun Fun!!! 2367NM

Re: ?
I think the 700 already does Honolulu - Victoria which is about 2,600 miles!!

Re: ?
He would have been very light YDF-YYT. It's only 45 mins or so. My theory is that the stop in YYT was more about needing the longer runway to go across the pond than about picking up pax. Sounds like I might be out to lunch on that one as it seems from the posts that YDF-Gatwick is not a problem because of runway length.
